Negotiations 1988 By and large, the police didn't bother us too much on the street - in fact I think they liked us for keeping all the winos in one place so they could keep an eye on them easily. Covent Garden Security and the Busking Mafia were another thing entirely - luckily for us, their jurisdiction didn't extend right round the whole of Covent Garden though, so our speciality was to 'fly pitch' on the edge of their area, and they'd have to complain to the police to get us moved. If the cops did turn up they'd generally wait till we'd finished playing before suggesting we might like to move on… [P] Unknown
